Uzbekistan delegation attended the 49th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), in Nouakchott, Mauritania.
The event was held under the theme “Moderation: The Key to Security and Stability”. It was attended by the ministers of foreign affairs of the member states of the organization, representatives of observer countries and international organizations.
Following the event, 102 resolutions were approved.
The 49th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers approved the resolution initiated by the Uzbek side “On supporting the results of the Tashkent International Conference “Afghanistan: Security and Economic Development.
Paragraph 31 of Resolution No. 4/49-CUL includes the main provisions of the resolution put forward by Uzbekistan “On the International Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the city of Samarkand”.
In the resolution “Regional initiatives to support Afghanistan”, a key place is taken by several international conferences held in Uzbekistan, the development of education in Afghanistan, the involvement of this country in trade, economic and infrastructure projects, the railway project “Termez – Mazar-i-Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar” and initiatives such as the construction of the Surkhan – Puli-Khumri transmission line.
The participants emphasized that the resolutions put forward by Uzbekistan, in particular following the results of the conference on Afghanistan, are aimed at solving the problems of this country, working out ways to achieve its security and economic development.
Following the session, the Nouakchott Declaration was adopted. The proposal of the Republic of Cameroon to hold the 50th session of the Council in this country was supported.
