Nodirbek Yakubboev wins the 61st Rubinstein Memorial 2025 Tournament

The 61st Rubinstein Memorial 2025 chess tournament has concluded in Poland.

In the final, ninth round, Nodirbek Yakubboev faced Ukrainian player Igor Kovalenko. Uzbekistan’s chess player played with the black pieces, while his opponent had the white pieces, and the sides agreed to a draw on the 9th move.

Polish grandmaster Radoslaw Wojtaszek, playing black in the last round, defeated Czech player David Navara, while German grandmaster Matthias Bluebaum drew with Polish player Jan Klimkowski.

As a result, N. Yakubboev scored 6.5 points and won the gold medal. R. Wojtaszek, with 6 points, took silver, and M. Bluebaum, with 5.5 points, claimed the bronze medal.

Thanks to this victory, Nodirbek rose 15 places in the FIDE rankings, moving up to 45th position in the top 100.
