Dubai hosted the Uzbek Law Day.

The event, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the United Arab Emirates and the Consulate General in Dubai, together with the law firm Prae Legal Uzbekistan and the Falcon company, was attended by representatives of international consulting and legal companies, investment funds.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the UAE A. Akkulov addressed the event. The reforms carried out in recent years to create a favorable investment environment in Uzbekistan and the degree of investment protection were demonstrated using specific examples.

A representative of the law firm Prae Legal Uzbekistan M. Ruziyev moderated the first panel session. The representative of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan T. Kurokboyev, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade Sh. Rakhimov and the head of the law firm Prae Legal Uzbekistan Sh. Abdulkasimov shared detailed information about the investment environment in Uzbekistan, the current legislation, legal and tax benefits, and services provided to foreign investors.

The second panel session was moderated by a representative of the law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, N. Kramer. Director of Tashkent International Arbitration Centre D. Bayzakova, representative of the law firm Prae Legal Uzbekistan M. Ruziyev informed about the judicial system of the Republic of Uzbekistan and an alternative method for resolving possible disputes, consideration of agreements on the prevention of double taxation. Amna Al Owais, Chief Registrar of Dubai International Financial Centre Courts (DIFC Courts), spoke about the experiences and challenges in the process of legislative integration for the organization and operation of the DIFC Courts.

Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, presented by the Holiday Factory company, made a great impression on the event participants. A small exhibition of tourism, national values, and artworks was organized.

Following the event, participants were offered national food and pilaf. A representative of the delegation of the Tourism Committee held talks with the Holiday Factory and VFS Global companies to develop tourism potential, further increase the flow of tourists, and develop cooperation.

The event was also attended by DIFC Free Zone representatives, regional offices of international consulting and law firms, and lawyers of companies wishing to enter the Uzbekistan market.

It is noteworthy that the event was organized with the participation of representatives of private business. Thus, the exchange of information became possible, and the shared vision of Uzbekistan became more complete. The main thing is that there has been an increased opportunity to obtain positive conclusions on projects that can be implemented in the future.
