“In order to prevent the penetration and spread of the disease in the region, two sanitary checkpoints at the border posts of Samarkand International Airport and Jartepa in Urgut district are operating in an intensified manner”, says Uktam Ganiyev, authorized employee of Samarkand Regional Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance. “Persons arriving from abroad undergo a medical examination here. The control points are equipped with necessary medical facilities, equipment, medicines, non-contact thermometers for measuring the body temperature of passengers. The airport has a remote thermal imager.
In the event of an emergency, in order to counter the spread of infection and coordinate preventive measures headquarters are organized in the regional health department, centers for sanitary and epidemiological surveillance, in all city and district medical associations. In order to provide emergency medical care in the event a patient is detected, 3 special emergency medical teams are formed in Samarkand, in the cities and regions 1 each (18 in total). For the treatment of patients in medical institutions, 95 reserve places have been prepared. Today, in the virology laboratory of the regional center for sanitary and epidemiological surveillance, work has been launched to identify four types of influenza and seven types of acute respiratory viral infections.
