In Bukhara, gifts are being delivered to families with no breadwinner, low-income families, participants in World War II and veterans of the labour front.

These gifts consisting of foodstuffs and other goods for everyday use are being given by the territorial departments of the Mahalla (neighbourhood) public charity foundation and the Nuroniy (veteran) foundation.

“We are glad about these New Year gifts. These lift our spirit. We are very grateful to our state for this attention. May peace and calm always reign in our country. May there be clear skies above,” says 93-year old Karim-bobo Rozikov living in Romitan District.

On the occasion of the New Year holiday, representatives of hokimiyats (governorates), neighbourhood citizens’ gatherings and public organizations are visiting low-income families, people with disabilities, labour and war veterans and providing charitable aid to them.
