Acting Minister of Health Asilbek Khudoyorov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar.

The parties discussed the results of medical cooperation and plans for the future. It was noted that Türkiye is a close friend and reliable partner for Uzbekistan.

Joint projects are being implemented between the ministries of health of the two countries in the construction of medical institutions, the development of medical education and management, and advanced personnel training. In particular, the University of Medical Sciences “Nursing” medical faculty operates based on the Bukhara State Medical Institute. With the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), mobile medical examinations and complex surgeries are organized, and maternity hospitals in different regions of the country are provided with the necessary equipment.

Mr. Khudoyorov noted that a health insurance system and improvements in the quality of medical services and the pharmaceutical industry are planned with the participation of leading Turkish specialists. Issues of medicine registration were discussed.
