UAE’s Masdar will build a solar power plant in Navoi region’s Karmana district with a capacity of 100 MW and a cost of $100 million.

Construction activities began in the third quarter of 2020 and will be fully completed in the third quarter of 2021.

Masdar and Uzbekistan Government signed an investment agreement in November 2019 on purchasing electricity for designing, financing and construction of the first solar power plant in Uzbekistan based on PPP.

In addition, it is planned to build a 500 MW wind power plant in Tamdin district for $500 million. Negotiations are continuing now to determine the exact parameters.
