These days there are more than usual passengers at Samarkand International Airport. The terminal of this air harbor, built based on high technologies and modern standards, has an excellent infrastructure.

Representatives of delegations of foreign countries arriving to attend the SCO Samarkand Summit are satisfied with the conditions created at the modern airport of the city. Guests are attracted by the unusual architectural solution of the object. The view of the airport terminal building resembles an open book, namely the greatest work of Mirzo Ulugbek “Ziji Jadidi Guragoni” (or “New Guraganov Astronomical Tables”). Everyone who arrives in the city feels all the splendor and beauty of the historical city from the threshold. 

The width of the terminal building is 175 meters, the height is 25 meters.

Work on the reconstruction of the airport was planned in 2018 at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan. During the visit of the Head of the state to Samarkand region in 2019, the project was expanded.

All guests of the city note the convenience of passenger and cargo check-in, as well as the high quality of services provided at the airport.
