New regulations for visa-free travel between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have entered into force.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Protocol on introducing amendments and additions to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on visa-free travel of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, signed on June 18, 1997, has entered into force.
This document was signed in Baku on August 22, 2023, and entered into force on January 15, 2024. It establishes a new procedure for entry and exit, transit, and stay on the territory of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan for 15 days without obtaining a permit and temporary registration with the relevant state authorities. Now, Uzbekistan citizens can remain in the country without a permit and temporary registration for up to 15 days instead of five after arriving in Azerbaijan.
