The State Committee for Roads of the Republic of Uzbekistan is developing a set of measures on development and improvement of the road network. In particular, according to the Investment Program in 2017, construction works were carried out on roads of general use with a length of 264.4 km, reconstruction was carried out. At the expense of the Republican Road Fund, 179.4 km of highways were put into operation. Due to attracting funds from international financial institutions, the A-380 “Guzar – Nukus – Kungrad – Beineu” highway was reconstructed on a 355-440-kilometer area, a new 4-lane 85-kilometer highway was built along the territory of Romitan, Jandar and Peshkun districts of Bukhara region.

This year the committee is also planning to construct and repair roads with a total length of 7249.9 kilometers worth 3739.3 billion sums.

This information was provided at a press conference held at the National Press Center.

In the first quarter of this year, 210 km of domestic and regional highways were repaired in the country. In addition, according to the instructions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during the trips to the regions of the country, construction and repair of 315 km of inter-farm roads and streets will start. It is also planned to build 75.5 km highways on 6 projects at the expense of international financial institutions.
