New reforms in statistics

Round table discussion on "Reforms in the national system of statistics" was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.The event was attended by representatives of responsible organizations, employees of the Center for retraining and statistical studies of the State Statistics Committee, professors, teachers and students of the university.
It was noted that the resolution of the President of the country "On measures for improving activities of the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan" of July 31, 2017 contributes to raising the sphere to a new level of development, further improving dissemination of statistical information through Internet, mass media and local TV channels.
Over the past time, statistical monitoring of activities of small enterprises, dehkan and farming enterprises has been improved. The system of statistical observations over the activities of various sectors of economy has been expanded. A new methodology for calculating and monitoring inflation has been introduced. However, cooperation with international organizations, statistical offices and financial institutions is being strengthened.
– Special attention is paid to ensuring freedom of access to statistical information and its openness, reflection of indicators of development of Uzbekistan in international statistical collections and ratings in various areas, – says responsible employee of the State Statistics Committee Usmon Abdurasulov. – In accordance with this, our cooperation with international statistical organizations is being strengthened. Particularly, a memorandum of cooperation with National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic was signed last year. We have also established cooperation with International Monetary Fund and relevant UN agencies.
During the conversation, information was presented about innovations in the field.
