The Embassy of Uzbekistan employees visited the city of Lille to establish cooperation with the Hauts-de-France region.

Meetings were held with the President of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Hauts-de-France region Nord France Invest, Luc Doublet, and the General Manager of the Health Development Agency Eurasanté, Etienne Vervaecke, where the French side got acquainted in detail with the economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan.

Luc Doublet, highly appreciating the ongoing structural reforms in Uzbekistan, proposed to establish an exchange of experience in the development of a smart city based on the Rev3 project. “This program is a collective initiative aimed at transforming the Hauts-de-France region into one of the most advanced European regions in terms of energy transition and digital technologies”, he said.

In addition, the President of the agency expressed readiness to assist in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation in agriculture, food processing and light industry, as well as organizing a business forum with the participation of Uzbekistan and France businesspeople.

In turn, General Manager of the Eurasanté, Etienne Vervaecke, spoke in detail about the activities of the organization. Taking into account the rapid development of the pharmaceutical and food industries in Uzbekistan, Etienne Vervaecke proposed to hold a videoconference with representatives of these areas to determine the prospects for cooperation.

Following the meetings, preliminary agreements were reached to organize the Uzbekistan – France Business Forum, as well as an online meeting of Eurasanté with representatives of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry and other relevant agencies of Uzbekistan.
