A grant agreement for implementing the “Reliable management of hazardous chemicals” project was signed in Tashkent.

The tripartite document was signed by the Deputy Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Jusipbek Kazbekov, Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan, Charlotte Adriaen, and FAO Deputy Representative in Uzbekistan Sherzod Umarov.

The ministry and FAO will implement the project with financial support from the EU from 2023 to 2027.

Significantly, the project will help scale up the promotion of sustainable agriculture practices, with a strong focus on raising awareness among institutions and the general public about the risks of using hazardous chemicals.
