New project for sustainable tourism in Central Asia

The new project “Model for sustainable tourism in Central Asia” is being implemented jointly with the EU.

The new project “Model for sustainable tourism in Central Asia” is being implemented within the framework of the initiative of the European Union “Switch Asia” and involves the conduction of educational trainings and courses for representatives of travel companies and hotel business, which are held via webinars.

A team has been formed from effectively working organizations from Greece, Cyprus, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan for successful implementation of the project.

Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) has been selected as the executing organization of the project in the country.

The new project promotes sustainable tourism in Central Asia through implementation of ISO standards related to green procurement and eco-labeling. Elaborates Guidelines on sustainable consumption, including usage of water, energy and recyclable waste. Promotes the sharing of the EU best practices such as legislative frameworks and regulations, while applying needed ICT and marketing tools.
