The attention paid in Uzbekistan to the tourism sector, as well as the decrees and resolutions, is yielding results. For example, 267 tourist facilities were built in Tashkent region over 5 years, and 5.5 trillion UZS of investments were attracted to the sphere.

283 new jobs were created thanks to 20 projects implemented over the past period of last year. Work in this direction continues.

Several vital tasks were identified at a videoconference chaired by the President of Uzbekistan on June 3 this year to discuss measures to improve the region’s tourist infrastructure and increase the flow of foreign tourists. Based on this, systematic work is being implemented in Tashkent region.

As of June 1, the number of local tourists arriving in the region amounted to 5.9 million, and foreign tourists – 286.8 thousand people. In turn, the export of tourist services amounts to $111.8 million. The indicators are planned to increase in this direction.

On hot summer days, the number of vacationers on the shores of the reservoirs of the region has increased. There are especially many visitors from Tashkent.

The number of reservoirs is increasing to create amenities for tourists. In particular, the Tash Vegas recreation area has commissioned a modern swimming pool and a beach near Tuyabuguz reservoir. An artificial lake has been created in Nurafshan, and concert programs and entertainment services are constantly provided for visitors. In the Heaven’s Garden recreation area in Bostanlyk district, a modern swimming pool was built on the model of the famous Singapore pool. By the end of the year, the total number of reservoirs will be brought to 198.

Memoranda have been signed with Russia’s Penza region and Kazakhstan’s Turkestan region to attract foreign tourists. The handouts on the tourism potential of Tashkent region are also constantly delivered to the embassies of Uzbekistan abroad through the National PR Center under the Tourism Committee.

According to experts, at the festival held in 2023, export agreements for grape and wine products worth more than $35 million were signed. Taking into account this circumstance, special attention is paid to organizational activities.

In general, 9 million local and foreign tourists are expected to visit the region's tourist sites by the end of this year. The next task is to provide high-quality services in the industry. The Tourism Department of Tashkent region carries out relevant activities in this direction.
