The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the new head of the project “Vocational education for economic growth sectors in Central Asia” Viktor Wetzel. The parties discussed the prospects for financial support for the development of higher education.

First, information was presented about the work being implemented within the framework of the grant project “Vocational education for economic growth sectors in Central Asia” for 2021-2024.

It was noted that its primary goal is to strengthen the capacity of the vocational education system in Central Asia and train qualified specialists and managers for the region’s economic sectors, taking into account their needs.

During the dialogue, the possibility of developing a new project in the green economy was considered, aimed at further adapting higher and vocational education in Uzbekistan to the labor market requirements and developing essential skills.
