New Image of New Uzbekistan
23:34 / 2023-07-05

As part of the International Partnership Initiatives Week “New Uzbekistan: Development, Innovation and Enlightenment”, a conference called “New Image of New Uzbekistan" was held.

As noted at the conference, the construction industry is one of the rapidly developing sectors of our country’s economy.

From 1991 to 2016, almost 2,000 construction contractors operated in the country, and today their number exceeds 40,000. Population growth due to urbanization, congestion of infrastructure industries, traffic jams resulting from congestion of vehicles on the road, dust, and air pollution required the expansion of urban areas and the construction of green cities with favorable conditions for people to live. The participants also noted that the green area of apartment buildings should not be less than 25 percent of the total area of the object, which is strictly defined by the norms and rules of urban planning.

A requirement has been introduced to install solar panels on at least 50 percent of the free part of the roof of multi-storey buildings being commissioned. The regions are also implementing the Solar Home program to stimulate the installation of low-power solar panels in the population’s homes. So, in 2023, the homes of 37,000 people will be equipped with low-capacity renewable energy sources.

In the country, the volume of construction of new housing for the population increased by 1.5 times. In 2023 alone, the construction of 90,000 houses continues. Mortgage loans are provided on preferential terms. A program for developing urban planning documents for cities, towns, and rural (village) settlements for 2023-2027 has been prepared.
