Most of the buildings being constructed in Uzbekistan today are high-rise structures.
At an international seminar organized at the Institute of Mechanics and Seismic Resistance of Structures of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, discussions were held on how to ensure their strength and seismic resistance, and which innovative developments should be applied for this purpose. The results of international cooperation in this area were also addressed.
The event was organized by the Institute of Mechanics and Seismic Stability of Structures of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the University of California, Berkeley.
The primary objective of the event is to establish an experimental platform for the exchange of views among leading global experts and scientists conducting research on earthquake-resistant construction and seismic activity in the region. Additionally, it aims to initiate new scientific research projects, develop a roadmap, and provide recommendations for future studies.
The seminar will contribute to the expansion of international cooperation and help define the path for future collaboration. In the long term, this will enable the identification and addressing of pressing issues at the national, regional, and international levels, facilitating the effective implementation of innovative projects and creating conditions for harmonious interaction between education and science.
