In Nukus, Qoraqalpoghiston, in the north-west of Uzbekistan, a new building of children’s school of music and art No 22 has been commissioned.

In this country, special attention is paid to bringing up a physically healthy and spiritually mature younger generation, to identifying young talents and to encouraging them.

In accordance with a resolution, dated 8 July 2008, of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, “On a state programme for strengthening the material-technical base and further improving the work of children’s schools of music and art for 2009-2014”, new modern schools of music and art are being built.

This new two-storey school building in Nukus was built by builders of the Qoraqalpoqqurilishmontazh LLC on the basis of modern architectural requirements.

The school has separate classrooms for piano lessons, for learning national and modern musical instruments, for traditional performances, choreography, variety art, visual and applied arts. It also has a concert hall for 210 people.

“About 200 girls and boys study in areas of interest to them at our school. The modern conditions created for studies here help to raise the mastery of young talents so that in future they can make a worthy contribution to the development of art in our country, ” says the director of the school, Ahmet Tajimuratov.
