New building of medical establishment in Nukus put into use

In the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, north-western Uzbekistan, a new building for the surgery department of a multi-functional medical centre has been commissioned.In this country, large-scale work is being carried out to strengthen the material and technical bases of health care establishments, to protect people’s health and to considerably improve the quality of medical services.
First President Islam Karimov’s resolution dated 1 August 2014 “On a state programme for further improving people’s reproductive health and protecting mothers’, children’s and teenagers’ health in Uzbekistan in the years 2014-2018” is an important programme document in this sphere.
At the opening ceremony of the building, the deputy chairman of the Joqorghi Kenges (supreme council [local council]) of the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, O.Hamroyev; the minister of health of the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, D.Khojiyev; and others said that special attention was being paid to strengthening the population’s health, protecting motherhood and childhood, thoroughly repairing and reconstructing prophylactic treatment facilities, including district medical associations and village medical stations, and providing modern equipment for them.
In line with an investment programme, the construction of the surgery department’s building was started in February 2016 and completed by builders of the Shorakhon Qurilish-Montazh LLC.
This new four-storey building for 165 people has surgery, neurosurgery, surgery aftermath and orthopaedics, rib cage and vein surgery as well as otorhinolaryngology and facial surgery sections.
As part of the event, 6 ambulance cars delivered on the basis of the Salomatlik-3 health project by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan were given to the medical associations of the districts of Amudaryo, Tortkol, Qanglikol, Chimboy and Takhtakopir.
The chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, Q.Sariyev, made a speech during the event.
