Since the beginning of this year, nearly 3 billion soms worth of preferential credits have been allocated for 220 graduates of vocational colleges who expressed a desire to engage in entrepreneurship in Farghona Region, eastern Uzbekistan.

Special attention is being paid in the country to creating favourable conditions for the development of small business and private entrepreneurship and giving comprehensive support to entrepreneurs, especially young entrepreneurs.

A decree, dated 28 July 2010, of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, “On additional measures to involve graduates of educational institutions in entrepreneurial activities” and his decree dated 6 February 2014 “On additional measures directed towards implementing the state youth policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan” are important programme documents in this sphere.

This year, 57 thousand 705 boys and girls graduated from vocational colleges in Farghona Region. More and more young people are choosing the path of entrepreneurship and are implementing their own business projects. Ravshanbek Halilov of Qoshtepa is one of these enterprising people. He has achieved big success in this sphere.

He graduated from the Marghilon economics college this year, and presented his business project to the Marghilon branch of the Qishloq Qurilish Bank. His promising project was supported, and a 39-million som credit was allocated. Today the Oybek Ravshan Mebellari family enterprise is achieving good results thanks to this young entrepreneur. Home and office furniture being made at the enterprise draws customers’ attention as it is of good quality and is competitively priced.

“Great opportunities and privileges have been created in our country for the establishment of businesses. More than 10 people work at our family enterprise, We want to increase the number of types of products and also to find our niche in the external market,” says R.Halilov.

Maftuna Niyozova of Marghilon is also a young entrepreneur. She graduated from the Marghilon light industry and tourism vocational college and established a beauty salon. A 26-million som preferential credit from the Marghilon town branch of a bank came in handy for her business.

Nazokat Muydinova who lives in the “Langar” village neighbourhood in Qoshtepa District was interested in livestock raising while she was studying at the Marghilon teaching college. She drew up her own business project for livestock raising and presented it to a commercial bank, which then allocated a 5-million som credit. She is making good use of the credit and is developing her business intensively.

Today thousands of enterprising young people such as Ravshanbek, Maftuna and Nazokat are running successful businesses and are making a worthy contribution to the country’s development and prosperity. This is a practical result of large-scale work being carried out in the country for comprehensively encouraging the work of entrepreneurs, especially young entrepreneurs.
