Motherland Defenders Lay Flowers to Monuments
In celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Day of Motherland Defenders, solemn ceremony of laying wreaths to the Monument of Independence and Humanism, which is a symbol of freedom, bright future and noble aspirations took place on the Mustaqillik Square in Tashkent.
In celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Day of Motherland Defenders, solemn ceremony of laying wreaths to the Monument of Independence and Humanism, which is a symbol of freedom, bright future and noble aspirations took place on the Mustaqillik Square in Tashkent.On this festive day, the representatives of the Ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs, Emergency Situations, the National Security Service and State Customs Committee solemnly lined up here. They laid wreaths to the Monument of Independence and Humanism to the music of a military band.
This tradition is a striking confirmation of the fact that peace and tranquility, pride and honor, goodness and mercy are priceless for our people.
… The national anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan was played. These solemn moments reminiscent of national power, high intelligence, strong will of our great ancestors. Hearts of defenders filled with pride for our country – Uzbekistan.
Laying of flowers was held also at the foot of the monument “Vatanga Qasamyod” (“Oath to the Motherland”) erected in Tashkent. The monument epitomizes a courageous warrior who, solemnly kneeled and tenderly kissing the State Flag of Uzbekistan.
During the years of independence, a compact and agile professional national army has been shaped in Uzbekistan as a result of the wide-ranging reforms in progress under the leadership of President Islam Karimov to boost the combat readiness as well as the equipment and mastery of the manpower of the Armed Forces, to secure the provision of our military with contemporary weapons systems and machinery.
