The National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a videoconference on the content and tasks of the Address of the President to the Oliy Majlis. The event was attended by the bank’s leadership and employees of all branches.
Reforms in Uzbekistan resulted in the establishment of 93 thousand new business entities last year, almost double the 2018 figures. In the Doing Business ranking of the World Bank, we have risen by 7 positions to come 8th among 190 nations in terms of business registration, and are among the best reformer countries.
“The number of young people among the clients and employees of our bank is growing”, says NBU Deputy Chairman Bahodir Jalilov. – The introduction of the position of advisor to a leader working with young people in the system is also an example of attention. The Address outlines the tasks facing youth support and the banking system.
It was noted that a more in-depth study of the content of the Address, its study in five areas to ensure the implementation of the identified tasks will give good results.
Introduction of non-standard methods of poverty reduction as the main task in the economy, creation of a free competitive environment, equal opportunities for entrepreneurs to buy raw materials, creating conditions for small business development are the most important directions of this year. In the banking system, it is planned to establish the activities of the “factory of projects” aimed at supporting entrepreneurs.
At the event, it was emphasized that banks with a state share will be gradually sold to strategic investors. Bank software will be radically upgraded through the widespread introduction of modern information technologies. The need was noted for launching the information system of “credit histories” in full, by July 1 this year.
