The results of 2020 and plans for 2021 have been discussed at the meeting of the Board of the National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Participants of the meeting noted all the tasks set out in the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Oliy Majlis on December 29, 2020, and emphasized that work plans were approved to ensure their implementation in the bank’s activities, based on which the relevant work would be carried out.
The results of the training and practical workshop on organizing the system of work in the context of the mahalla, held on January 11-16 this year at the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, were discussed. Issues of bringing the acquired knowledge and experience to the employees of all branches of the bank were discussed. Instructions were given to conduct such workshops everywhere.
In 2020, the bank’s assets reached 79.8 trillion UZS, the loan portfolio amounted to 65.6 trillion UZS, the total volume of deposits amounted to 17.2 trillion UZS, of which deposits of legal entities amounted to 12.7 trillion UZS.
5.3 trillion UZS were allocated to replenish working capital for providing financial support to businesses that faced a shortage of working capital, as well as mitigating and eliminating the consequences of the pandemic. 5.1 trillion UZS of principal debt and 560.0 billion UZS of interest payments of 210,000 customers were extended.
In the reporting year, all areas of banking activities were analyzed, relevant reports were heard, presentations were made.
In 2020, the bank financed 885 projects, including 514 projects under regional development programs, and 25 major projects.
In particular, Technopark LLC in Tashkent launched the production of household appliances (refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, water pumps, and gas meters).



“Marmarobod” large cluster project for the extraction and processing of natural stone on 37 hectares was launched in the city of Gozgon, Navoi region.



A large modern spinning enterprise Shomanay Eco Teks LLC with a capacity of 6,800 tons per year was launched in the Shomanay district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and JV Ostex Jizzakh LLC with a capacity of 5,000 tons per year in Zaamin district of Jizzakh region.



The first stage of the Dustlik-2 – Quyliq metro line of Uzbekistan Railways JSC was completed in Tashkent. 7 stations have been built on this section of the metro. The length of the new route is 11.5 km.



Sub-dry LLC has implemented a project to organize the drying of agricultural products by the method of sublimation in Oqoltin district of Syrdarya region.



In 2021, it is planned to bring the total assets of the National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs to 91.7 trillion UZS, the bank’s loan portfolio up to 77.1 trillion UZS, and the total balance of deposits of legal entities and individuals up to 17.8 trillion UZS.
The bank will allocate loans for 16.5 trillion UZS for the implementation of 540 projects to develop the economy, support entrepreneurship, finance effective projects in 2021.
Loans worth 8.8 trillion UZS will be allocated for the implementation of 27 large projects, 6.5 trillion UZS for 371 projects within the framework of regional development programs, and 1.2 trillion UZS for 142 projects in other areas.
Credit funds will be allocated for the implementation of the Universal Mobile System project to provide communication services to settlements and global Internet services to social facilities, the reconstruction project of Termez International Airport, the project to develop the “Uch-Quloch” ore deposit in Forish district of Jizzakh region, a project for the production of special equipment in “Nurafshon Makhsus Tekhnika” society in the city of Nurafshan, and a project for the creation of an industrial cluster for the production of building materials in the structure of Okhangaroncement.
Heads of structural divisions of the republican office of the Bank were instructed to develop schedules for conducting educational and methodological workshops and webinars to improve the skills of branch employees, retrain young personnel, and teaching work in the context of mahallas.
Managers of the Bank branches and heads of structural divisions of the Head Office were instructed to ensure the execution of the tasks set for 2021, to carry out work to provide high-quality banking services to customers in full compliance with the current legislation.
