Hokim of Navoi region Normat Tursunov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the People's Republic of China Farkhod Arziyev.

According to the Hokimiyat of Navoi region, the parties exchanged views on the current issues of sustainable economic and social development of Uzbekistan and China, prospects and priorities for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the major provinces of China and Navoi region.

Normat Tursunov expressed gratitude to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China for the ongoing work on the development of effective cooperation, including with Navoi region in trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian spheres. The prospects for the development of several industries in cooperation, such as mining, chemical, machine-building, textile industries and building materials, were noted. The opportunities created for Chinese investors in Navoi region, as well as issues of accelerating investments from China, were discussed.

53 enterprises with the participation of Chinese capital have been established in Navoi region, 28 of them are foreign enterprises with the full participation of Chinese capital. These enterprises have implemented projects worth $61.7 million, and it is planned to implement projects worth $331.6 million by 2026. By the end of 2021, the mutual foreign trade turnover amounted to $188.3 million, of which exports – $93.6 million, imports – $94.7 million.
