Navoi hosted an event timed to May 9 – the Day of Remembrance and Honor.

The memory of those who died in the name of the Motherland, compatriots who forged victory with hard work in the rear were honored. Cultural-enlightenment meetings with veterans of war and labor front were organized in educational institutions, labor collectives and mahallas.

The congratulatory message from the President of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Honor was read out.

Representatives of the regional hokimiyat, state and public organizations laid flowers at the monument to the Grieving Mother, paid tribute to the memory of our compatriots who gave their lives in the war.

Exhibitions of military and modern equipment and weapons were organized on the streets of Navoi.

Festive events timed to the Second World War continue in the city.
