One of the main tasks of the Alisher Navoi International Public Foundation, established in accordance with the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan of February 4, 2021, is the wide study and popularization of life, high humanistic ideas, as well as scientific and literary heritage of Alisher Navoi in the country and abroad.
In addition, this document determines the annual celebration on February 9 – the birthday of Alisher Navoi – an international conference (symposium) and “Navoi readings”.
Well-known scientists from the United States, Russia, Turkey, Hungary, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan took part in the symposium “Navoi and the Eastern Renaissance” organized on this occasion at the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, along with the Navoi scholars of Uzbekistan.
Chairman of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan Sirojiddin Sayyid and Rector of Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi Shukhrat Sirojiddinov noted that interest in studying the poet’s heritage is growing not only in the country, but throughout the world.
In 2021, the Alisher Navoi International Research Center was established in Pakistan’s city of Lahore. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between this center and the International Public Foundation named after Alisher Navoi. Negotiations are currently underway to open representative offices of the Foundation in Korea, China, Germany and Iran, and to establish cooperation with the Navoi scholars of these countries.
Over the past period, at the expense of the fund, the second volume of the Explanatory Dictionary of the Language of the Works of Alisher Navoi, the Tajik translation of the dastan “Leyli and Mejnun”, a collection of mukhammas on the works of Navoi was published.
A single platform for research on Navoi studies, an electronic dictionary of the language of the poet’s works has been created. The first part of the monograph on Navoi studies abroad has been prepared for publication. The translation of Navoi’s works into English, Arabic, German, Azerbaijani and other languages has begun.
In 1991-2021, a 30-volume book “Uzbek Literary Studies in the Period of Independence” was prepared for publication, and its experimental copies were released.
At the international symposium, the enlightenment, scientific, spiritual, aesthetic, universal aspects of the works of Alisher Navoi were discussed.
