Navbakhor Khamidova wins bronze in India
India’s New Delhi hosted the IBA Women's World Boxing Championships. According to the National Olympic Committee, Uzbekistan’s national team member Navbakhor Khamidova was awarded a bronze medal.
She competed in the 66 kg weight category. In the quarterfinals, Navbakhor Khamidova lost to Imane Khelif from Algeria. However, later the Algerian boxer was disqualified, and Navbakhor Khamidova was announced as a semi-finalist.
Thus, Uzbekistan’s female boxers finish the World Championships with a medal for the second year in a row. At the previous World Championships in Türkiye, Uzbekistan’s boxers won two bronze medals.
