Representatives of more than 130 nations and nationalities live in peace and harmony in Uzbekistan. All conditions have been created for them to observe their customs and traditions and preserve national values fully.

Representatives of several nationalities live in Amudarya region of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. At the historical monument “Chilpik”, located in the village of Nazarkhan of this district, an event was held on “Our national values and costumes are a mirror of our spirituality”. It was attended by employees of the district Department of Family and Women, activists of citizens’ assemblies of villages and mahallas, and leaders of the “Oqila Ayollar” movement.

Information was provided about the lifestyle of the Karakalpak, Kazakh, and Turkmen diasporas living in Nazarkhan and Beshtom mahallas, as well as about the unique traditions, national clothes, songs, and lapars of people. National dances and songs were performed.

The women showed how old national dishes are prepared.

Active participants were awarded certificates and memorable gifts from the organizers after the event.
