Bostanlyk district, Uzbekistan, hosts the Fourth National Conference “Activities of Information Services: Openness, Efficiency and Impartiality are the Main Criteria” and a Media Forum.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov, AIMC Director Asadjon Khodjaev, Member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Makhmudjon Parpiyev, Chairman of the Board of JSC AMMC and Director General Abdulla Khursanov.

Mr. Asadov recalled the responsibility and functional aspects of the activities of press secretaries in the era of globalization.

“The head of the information service must have deep knowledge and experience in his field, inform the population about the work carried out by the state, and carry out activities transparently and promptly”, says Mr. Asadov.

AIMC Director Asadjon Khodjaev focused on innovative technologies that need to be integrated into the work of press secretaries.

“There is unprofessionalism in the activities of press secretaries of government agencies and organizations. The requirements of the information environment are not taken into account”, says Mr. Khodjaev. “There is no effective interaction with media representatives, which causes indignation among Internet users”.

The dissemination of false information, deepfakes created with the help of artificial intelligence, misinforms the population. Press secretaries, presenting accurate facts, can redirect the information flow in the right direction.

Makhmudjon Parpiyev noted the criteria for compliance with the law to ensure freedom of speech.
