National Chamber and UN establish partnership

Chairman of the National Chamber of Innovative Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rovshan Izamov held talks with representatives of UNICEF and UNFPA offices in Uzbekistan.
Chief of Health and Wellbeing at UNICEF Sufang Guo and Deputy Representative of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) in Uzbekistan Kamolkhon Inomkhodjayev noted that during the year and a half of its activity, the National Chamber of Innovative Health has proved to be a competent partner in reforming Uzbekistan’s healthcare system.
The parties discussed a number of projects implemented by the UN agencies, including screening aimed at early diagnosis of cervical cancer, which is important for health of thousands of women. The National Chamber expressed its readiness to assist in implementation of these projects.
An agreement was reached to continue cooperation, including taking into account potential for creating joint working groups with the involvement of international experts, developing a strategy and specific steps for implementation of projects to be selected for joint implementation.
