Previously, Namangan was famous for its delicious and juicy apples. Now the Namangan cherry has conquered the world markets. But the people of Namangan have another passion – growing flowers.
“Flowers grow in the yard of almost every Namangan citizen”, says Botir Nuriddinov, Deputy Hokim of Namangan region. – This hobby of local residents is rooted in history. In the 19th century, there was a “Gulzor” mahalla on the site of the park named after Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. Its residents were engaged in the cultivation of flowers, as well as the production of flower drinks, nectar, medicines, sweets, spices, and honey. In 1920, Babur Park was handed over to the local authorities, and floriculture was established here. In 1961, the Flowers Festival was held in the park for the first time. And in 2019, on behalf of the President, this festival got the status of the International Flower Festival.

The annual flower festival, which usually lasted only a few days, has been extended to 15 days in 2022. Parks and squares, and the streets of Namangan were covered with various flowers. Flowers are a reflection of the beauty of nature. Flowers are love. Flowers are hope. Since then, Namangan has become a city of beauty, kindness, and dreams. 3 million tourists from the regions of the country arrived in Namangan last year to get in touch with this beauty. More than 50 thousand flower lovers who came from 30 countries also became participants in the International Flower Festival. It became one of the unforgettable events in their lives.

On the eve of the International Flower Festival, 50 million flowers have been grown to decorate the streets, parks and squares. This year the city of Namangan will be covered with flowers like never before.

This year, on the instruction of the Head of state, the International Flower Festival will last for a month. Every day of the festival will undoubtedly become a celebration of beauty.
