Detailed information about the electoral process was provided at a press conference held at Namangan Regional Territorial Election Commission with the participation of media representatives.
As noted by the Chairman of the Regional Territorial Election Commission, Rector of Namangan State University, professor Sobitkhon Turgunov, based on the calendar plan drawn up by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, by the decision of the Regional Territorial Election Commission of Namangan region, 55 electoral districts were formed to hold elections to the Regional Council of People’s Deputies.
The electronic system “E-saylov” considered the submissions of city and district hokimiyats regarding the location of polling stations. 837 polling stations were created in the region. Seven are special polling stations, and 59 were created in areas bordering neighboring countries.
A total of 1,725 candidates, one from each of the five political parties, have been approved for 345 electoral districts, where elections to city and district Councils of People’s Deputies will be held.
