Namangan hosted Military Board Meeting of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Border Agencies
Namangan hosted the regular meeting of the Military Board of the Border Agencies of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
On May 21, Namangan hosted the regular meeting of the Military Board of the Border Agencies of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, the Press Service of the BT SSS of Uzbekistan reports.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the main current threats to border security, summed up the activities on protection of Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan state border for 2018, considered current issues of protection of the State border, identified the main vectors of interaction and cooperation for 2019.
It was noted that in order to promptly resolve issues arising at the border, in 2018 the number of meetings of border representative offices of the parties increased by 19.5% compared to 2017, the number of joint patrols increased by 21%.
Thanks to joint efforts, the number of violations on Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan border decreased by 65% in 2018 compared to 2017.
The parties noted the readiness and interest to further address the issues of bilateral cooperation in the spirit of good-neighborliness and mutual understanding.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
