Nagoya hosts Tashkent Day Forum

On December 19, the city of Nagoya hosted the opening ceremony of Tashkent Day Forum.

According to the State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan, the opening ceremony of the forum was attended by the Mayor of the city of Nagoya Kawamura Takashi and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan Gayrat Fazilov.

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, in his video message to the forum participants, noted that the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan in December 2019 strengthened political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as cooperation in tourism. The President’s visit to the ancient city of Nagoya, the visit of Mayor Kawamura Takashi to Tashkent in December 2019 gave additional impetus to the development of relations between the two countries and the cities of Tashkent and Nagoya. A significant step was the signing of the Partnership Agreement between the Hokimiyat of Tashkent and Nagoya City Hall.

Aziz Abdukhakimov also noted that since ancient times Uzbekistan has been the crossroads of world civilizations and the center of the Great Silk Road. The Japanese people love Uzbekistan, its historical centers such as Samarkand, Bukhara and Khorezm. Due to restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Japanese tourists were unable to visit Uzbekistan this year. The Government of Uzbekistan has introduced the system of sanitary and epidemiological safety “Uzbekistan. Safe Travel Guaranteed”. As the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized, today travel to Uzbekistan for Japanese tourists has become safe.

In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister invited the guests of the opening ceremony and people of Japan to visit Uzbekistan and wished to successfully hold all the events of the First Tashkent Day Forum in the city of Nagoya.
