Mutually beneficial cooperation strengthens
“Silk Road” International University of Tourism was established last year on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in order to establish cooperation with leading education institutions in tourism and hospitality, to train highly qualified and competitive personnel in tourism industry of Uzbekistan.

On October 12-15, 2019, representatives of the university, led by the First Vice Rector for Development and Strategic Issues A. Akbarov, attended the second Belt and Road international conference, in China.
Representatives of more than 200 educational and government institutions, large tourism companies from 64 countries discussed issues related to tourism and mutually beneficial cooperation, the use of information and communication technologies.
The third international conference is scheduled to be held in 2020 in Samarkand.
