Murad Uzakov: Central Asian countries should continue to find solutions to all complex issues based on mutual compromises

Dushanbe hosted a scientific-practical conference on “Threats and potential dangers for stability and security in integration processes in Central Asia”, organized by the Institute of Asian and European Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The event was attended by the scientific and academic circles of Tajikistan and leading experts of Uzbekistan, who thoroughly discussed possible threats and challenges to the stability and sustainable development of connectivity processes in Central Asia.

Head of the ISRS Center Murad Uzakov noted that “today the countries of the region pay special attention to the development of regional processes in Central Asia and disclosure of the potential of cooperation”. At the same time, according to him, the five countries manage to counter internal and external challenges effectively thanks to the policy of good neighborliness, establishment, and maintenance of a close political dialogue, and vast expansion of trade-economic ties.

Participants who addressed the event, supporting the interaction of the countries of the region in the development of political and economic connectivity, focused on the importance of the role of the mechanism of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian states, which becomes an effective platform and determines the course of development of the region.

Following the conference, the experts highly appreciated the dialogue, which confirmed the commitment of the Central Asian countries to further jointly increase the potential for interaction in the region and join efforts to ensure stability and sustainable development of region-wide processes. Participants expressed readiness to hold such discussions regularly to search for and develop effective approaches to developing mutually beneficial cooperation in Central Asia.
