Multifaceted cooperation in combating drugs will develop

The Senate hosted a meeting with Milos Stojanovic, the UNODC Regional Health Advisor, and Wadih Maalouf, the Programme Manager for UNODC’s Prevention, Treatment, and Rehabilitation Section.

At the meeting, the Deputy Chairperson of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Youth, Culture and Sports, Dilorom Tashmukhamedova, informed about the laws adopted by the Senate on preventing the use of narcotic and psychotropic substances among young people and children, strengthening their mental health, and the results of control and analytical activities.

Milos Stojanovic and Wadih Maalouf spoke about promising projects, new areas of partnership, and upcoming work on further development of multifaceted cooperation with Uzbekistan in preventing drug use, reducing and treating drug addiction, and eliminating diseases. 

At the meeting, the opinions and proposals of the heads of the Republican Psychological and Pedagogical Center, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Narcology, and the Republican Center for Combating AIDS were heard.

Following the discussions, a detailed exchange of opinions took place on the plans to be implemented by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the UNODC and joint international events.
