On December 23, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Belgium organized a videoconference with participation of Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan Jasipbek Kazbekov, Minister of Health Murad Kurbanov, representatives of the European Investment Bank Adam Bruun, World Health Organization Christopher Fitzpatrick, Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade and other interested parties.

The sides discussed the issue of financing a multidisciplinary hospital construction project in Muynak.

Assistance in the implementation of this project by financial institutions, in particular, attracting funds from the European Investment Bank, were discussed at the meeting. EIB representative confirmed the bank’s interest in participating in the project, noting such a difficult environmental situation and desire to help overcome it by promoting the healthcare in the region.

An agreement was reached following the discussions on the creation of an informal working group, which should include participants of virtual talks and other interested parties for substantive study of the proposals for the implementation of the project.
