Termez hosted the 15th International Kurash Tournament in memory of Al-Hakim at-Termezi.
More than a hundred athletes from 27 countries of the world participated in the tournament for the prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In the absolute weight category championships, Uzbekistan’s Mukhsin Khisomiddinov, having defeated his opponent from Tajikistan Dadakhon Kurbanaliyev, was awarded the prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan – $10 thousand.
Dadakhon Kurbanaliyev from Tajikistan took second place and was awarded $5 thousand. Yahyo Imamov (Uzbekistan) and Nematullo Arslankulov (Tajikistan) received $3,500 for third place.
In the weight category of 60 kilograms, Muhammadrizo Kuvatov from Tajikistan took first place, Abdulaziz Khamrayev from Uzbekistan – the second, Akobir Kurbanov (Uzbekistan) and Seilkhon Kanat (Kazakhstan ) – the third place. In the weight category of 66 kilograms, Kobuljan Akhmedov (Uzbekistan) took the first, Amirali Atabek from Kazakhstan – the second, and Rustam Buriyev (Uzbekistan) and Muhammad Yusuf Shuaibh (Afghanistan) – the third places. In the weight category of 73 kilograms, the first place was taken by Sabir Safarbayev from Kazakhstan, the second place – Umidjon Abdullayev from Uzbekistan, and two third places went to Urol Salikhov from Uzbekistan and Ilsokzoda Husainir from Tajikistan.
In women’s championships (over 70 kg), Pokizakhon Kamoliddinova from Uzbekistan took the first, Azman Amayeva from Kazakhstan – the second, Flura Ergasheva (Uzbekistan) and Huseyo Vladieno (Russia) – the third places.
The first-place winners at the international tournament received $3000, the second-place – $2000, and the third-place – $1000.
The awarding ceremony was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Behzod Musayev, Hokim of Surkhandarya region Tura Bobolov and President of International Kurash Association Haydar Farmon.
