Tomorrow, July 9, an important political event– Presidential Election will take place in Uzbekistan. According to tradition, many international observers have arrived in Uzbekistan. One of them, the Managing Director of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Muhammad Asim, visited Uzbekistan National News Agency today.
At the beginning of the interview, our Pakistani colleague, who arrived in Uzbekistan to cover an important political event– the Presidential Election, and become acquainted with the activities of the leading official news agency of the country, was informed about the positive changes taking place in the media space in Uzbekistan along with various fields.
It was noted that the relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan are rapidly developing, especially in culture, art, tourism, and the importance of regular information exchange regarding the reforms implemented in both countries.
Muhammad Asim noted that the Associated Press of Pakistan is interested in establishing regular communication with UzA.
During the dialogue, the parties agreed to sign a memorandum to improve the partnership between UzA and APP as soon as possible, expanding the scope of information exchange within the framework of the agreement and taking measures to increase the experience and qualifications of employees systematically.
“Today, we visited some polling stations in the capital and were satisfied with the conditions created for voters”, Mr. Asim said. – We have seen that everything is ready for citizens to express their will and fully use their constitutional rights freely. The election is an expression of people’s trust. Tomorrow, every citizen will vote for the candidate they consider worthy. After all, free and fair elections are an important condition of democracy.
During the dialogue, the parties also exchanged views on other relevant aspects of multilateral cooperation.
Established in 1947 and headquartered in Islamabad, APP operates in Urdu, Pashto, English, Sindhi, Arabic, Siraiki, and Balochi. Based on the strategic partnership between the two countries, the Agency publishes an average of more than forty materials on the events in Uzbekistan per month.
