The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia and Moscow State Linguistic University organized an international scientific-practical conference “Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur: ruler, poet, scientist, outstanding personality”.
The event was attended by more than 140 representatives from different countries – university professors from Uzbekistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Tajikistan, as well as public figures and young students inspired by the great poet’s legacy. Within its framework, the multifaceted aspects of Babur’s life and work and the poet’s contribution not only to Uzbek but also to world culture were discussed.
The conference began with the screening of a film about Babur’s military campaigns in Afghanistan and India and the formation of the Baburid dynasty and empire.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov praised Babur’s historical role in the formation of a powerful centralized state in the region, the influence of his work “Baburname” on the development of not only domestic but also world historiography and literature. It was noted separately that many key educational and enlightenment projects in the country bear the name of the great son of the Uzbek people.
According to the Director of the Center for Uzbek Language and Culture at Moscow State Linguistic University Begam Karayeva, Uzbek classical poetry is distinguished by its complex stylistic techniques, and Uzbek literature has a rich history, honed over many centuries.
