The Cultural Heritage Agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan conducts scientific research on the implementation of a scientific description of the collected data on artifacts, entering them into the Electronic Register and publishing a register of manuscripts stored in museums, funds, private collections, scientific and cultural institutions around the world.
To date, data has been collected on more than 9,000 household items, archaeological finds, various jewelry, manuscripts, documents, textiles, musical instruments related to Uzbekistan’s history and culture, and stored in 40 countries of the world.
This invaluable heritage of our ancestors made a great contribution to the development of mankind and Islamic civilization. Since manuscripts make up 44 percent of this wealth, special attention is paid to their study and promotion.
In 2022, a scientific description of 330 cultural objects was identified and carried out – 173 manuscripts, 157 museum exhibits related to the history and culture of the country and stored in foreign countries. Based on preliminary results, the “The Register of Manuscripts located overseas concerning Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage” was published.
The monographic study was published in 1000 copies in Uzbek, English and Russian and presented to scientific and cultural institutions and organizations of Uzbekistan and about 40 countries of the world.
