More than 185 billion UZS allocated for holding International Handicrafters Festival

Kokand city is getting ready for the First International Handicrafters Festival.
Special attention is paid to the organization of this event at a high level. 185.6 billion soums have been allocated for its thorough preparation and conduction, of which up to the present, 110 billion soums have already been used.
There are such cultural heritage sites as Khudoyar-Khan Palace, the cathedral mosque, Norbutabi and Sokhibzoda Hazrat madrasahs, the mausoleum of Modarikhon and others in the ancient city. Main events of the festival will be held at Khudoyar-Khan Palace. Currently, large-scale construction and landscaping activities are being carried out here. Construction of the stage and the amphitheater continues.
The work of the festival will continue for five days. 180 artisans from nearly 80 countries are expected to attend the event. The festival will include a scientific-practical conference on prospects for development of handicrafts and folk arts, handicrafters contests, as well as master classes from foreign and domestic craftsmen.
The exhibition of products of participants of the contest and master classes will be assessed by an international jury in 5 nominations.
