Ensuring employment of unemployed women is one of the priority tasks of the Women’s Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Women’s Committee clarified the list of 168,634 unemployed women. 45,892 of them were registered in employment centers, and as a result of visiting households, another 126,231 unemployed women were identified.

29,785 women were employed in vacant jobs in enterprises and organizations, 8,679 women in small enterprises, 3,466 women were provided with home-based work, 8,967 women were engaged in family business, 62,335 were employed in cultivation of cocoons and 18,623 women in other areas.

In addition, systematic work is carried out on training women in entrepreneurial skills and retraining in various professions.
