Monument to a book has been installed in Karshi
The monument became a logical continuation of large-scale activities carried out in Uzbekistan on attracting youth to reading books.
The solemn event dedicated to the opening of this monument, installed at Karshi State University, made a great impression not only on students but also on all residents and guests of Kashkadarya region.
This monument became a logical continuation of large-scale activities carried out in Uzbekistan on attracting youth to reading books.
There are names of such famous thinkers, people's favorite poets and writers on the monument, as Alisher Navoi, Abu Ali ibn Sina, Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur, Abdulla Aripov, Sharof Rashidov, as well as names of famous representatives of world literature – Balzac, Shakespeare and Pushkin.
“We were inspired by establishment of such a monument near the university. Everyone knows that book is an invaluable asset, but not everyone can bring it to the level of the highest value and capture in the history. This monument not only calls for reading books, but also will constantly remind about Uzbek literature’s value”, says the 2nd year student of Karshi State University Shokhsanam Abdushukurova.
