Modern Constitutionalism: national and foreign experience

Tashkent hosted an international conference on “Modern Constitutionalism: national and foreign experience” by the National Center for Human Rights together with the Center for Sustainable Development and the Institute of State and Law.

The event was attended by representatives of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, state bodies and civil society institutions, political parties, the academic community, as well as international organizations and diplomatic corps.

Issues of identifying and analyzing trends in the development of constitutionalism in different countries, studying the best national and international experience in this area, including the adaptation of the Basic Law of Uzbekistan to the realities of society, the democratic reforms being implemented, and the creation of a solid legal basis for the development strategy of the new Uzbekistan was considered at the event.

It was noted that constitutional reformation is a necessary legal condition and the basis for successful and sustainable development today and in the future.

Participants exchanged views on all issues, and appropriate recommendations were given on the topic.
