On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chairman of the Republican Azerbaijani National Cultural Center in Uzbekistan, Mobil Mamedov, shared his reflections in an interview with UzA correspondent.
– September 1, 1991, is a date that opened a new chapter in the history of fraternal Uzbekistan. From that day, the path of revival, freedom, and independence began, becoming a defining moment for the entire country and its people. We greet the 34th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan with special pride and sincere joy, realizing the tremendous path of development achieved over these years.

Today, Uzbekistan stands as a symbol of stability, sustainable development, and progress in the region. Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country is successfully implementing large-scale reforms within the framework of the “New Uzbekistan” concept, covering all spheres of life – from building a state governed by the rule of law and ensuring social justice to strengthening the economy, modernizing industry, developing agriculture, education, healthcare, and digitalization.
The principle proclaimed by the President, “It is not the people who should serve state bodies, but state bodies that should serve the people”, has become the foundation of a new management philosophy, strengthened public trust, and opened horizons for further progress.
Special attention in Uzbekistan is given to interethnic harmony and the support of cultural centers. The country’s multinational policy has become an example of tolerance, mutual respect, and careful preservation of the cultural heritage of each nation.
– Relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are currently at an unprecedentedly high level. The friendship and mutual respect between Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev have laid a solid foundation for a strategic partnership encompassing the political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
Educational and diaspora ties are actively strengthening, a vivid example of which is the activity of the Republican Azerbaijani National Cultural Center in Uzbekistan, which plays a vital role in promoting interethnic harmony and popularizing the rich Azerbaijani culture.
Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, national cultural centers receive broad state support: pavilions are provided, conditions are created for participation in festivals and exhibitions, and assistance is offered in organizing native language, dance, and music circles. All this is clear evidence of respect for the country’s cultural diversity and the commitment to strengthening interethnic unity.
– We are proud to contribute to the development of friendship and brotherhood between our peoples. I am confident that even more joint initiatives and projects lie ahead.
We wholeheartedly congratulate the fraternal people of Uzbekistan on the 34th anniversary of independence. We wish the country peace, prosperity, well-being, and new achievements.
Long live independent Uzbekistan! Long live the eternal friendship and brotherhood of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan!
