12:52 / 2024-05-20

Karakaplakstan hosted the international youth festival “Mizdahkan is a holy and mysterious place”. It was organized by Karakaplakstan Tourism Department, Tashkent State University of Economics and Khojayli District Hokimiyat.

The event included an international scientific-practical conference “Raising awareness about culture and the development of environmentally sustainable tourism”. Experts from the United States, South Korea, Ireland, Türkiye and other countries participated in it.

UNESCO Representative to Uzbekistan Sara Noshadi, experts on ecology and tourism from the United States, South Korea, Ireland, and Türkiye, made reports on the development of tourism in the Aral Sea region and the protection of ecology and the environment.

Agreements on cooperation in the agro-sphere and ecotourism were reached. The participants were given memorable gifts and certificates from the TSEU and Khojayli District Hokimiyat.

Almost 100 samples of national clothes created by five of Uzbekistan’s youngest and most talented designers were presented at the Takiya National Karakalpak Costume Exhibition. Similar exhibitions abroad would be proposed to demonstrate Karakalpak national costumes to other countries.

The festival’s second day was dedicated to the historical Mizdahkan complex, which occupies almost 200 hectares. Mizdahkan is one of the oldest and largest cemeteries in the Central Asian region. Some ancient burials here have a 2,400-year history. The place is considered sacred.
