Uzbekistan delegation led by the Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov held meetings with representatives of the MasterCard and Visa payment systems, in the United States.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, during the talks with MasterCard Vice President Sami Lahoud, the priorities of cooperation in developing e-commerce ecosystems, building the capacity of small and medium-sized businesses in digital commerce, as well as the possibility of creating a partner platform for online payments and other services were discussed.

Following the meeting, the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications and Mastercard signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

Uzbekistan delegation also met with representatives of the Visa payment system. The parties exchanged views on deepening cooperation in the development and capacity building of small and medium-sized businesses through a special settlement platform, as well as creating a potential partner platform, including online payments and others.

Following the meeting, the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications and VISA signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the development, digitization and implementation of technologies in information and communication technologies in the country.
